Books: Show us the longest book you've ever read. (All the way through.)
At the time, I wondered if it was worth reading, it took so long, and was rather dry and hard work in places. I'm not going to be one of those silly people who claims it's a breeze and exciting all the way, it isn't. But since then, I have remembered a lot more good points about it, it is a brilliant story, and well written, I remember some characters and scenes so vividly, all of the Rostov's are memorable characters as is Dolokhov, and the descriptions of the retreat from Moscow are amazing. If you have time, it's worth a read and is a brilliant story, it probably is worth its acclaim as one of the best books ever, but it's not exactly light work. Oh, and ignore the epilogues, they're wordy and they detract from the story.
I think the Bible may be longer, but I've never read the bible in a linear manner, so while I may have read it all, I'm not sure it counts.
